For the third year running, Great Portland Estates hosted a stand at the London Real Estate Forum ‘LREF’, London's premier real estate event for development and investment, with over 3,000 delegates in attendance representing the most senior tiers of the development community.
The theme for LREF 2018 was “Constant Change” and the conference programme investigated how rapid technological, economic and societal changes are having a profound impact on the way that we design, build and manage our city to ensure a successful and sustainable future for all.
At the heart of the London Real Estate Forum was a curated exhibition of over 100 major development and investment opportunities across London showcased between two exhibition halls – Central London & Opportunity London. The Central London Exhibition focused on projects in zones 1&2 while Opportunity London focused on major regeneration and investment opportunities in Zones 3-6.
During the exhibition both Toby Courtauld and Simon Rowley, Head of Office Leasing, spoke on panels ‘Where Next for London’ and ‘Whitechapel & City Fringe’.
To help reach young Londoners looking for opportunities within the industry, GPE’s Development Manager Katherine Norton and Project Manager Matthew Turner spoke to students from years 10-13 from state-maintained schools in the Greater London area. This took place in the ‘Schools Preview’ area – a space that offered tours of the exhibition, speed networking and an employability workshop. These initiatives were aimed to introduce school leavers to opportunities across the built environment, both at degree and apprenticeship level.
